Volunteers in Africa
http://www.volunteeringinafrica.org/index.htm
This program is design for medical and nursing students or others in the health
profession who would like to contribute to the development of general health
care and also gain some experience or more experience in the field through
volunteering. Volunteers work at government and private hospitals and clinics.
Volunteers could participate in most of the programs anytime of year. Volunteers
mostly work alongside workers and volunteers from the local community. Special
skills, professional qualifications or previous experience is not required of
volunteers in most of the programs. However, they should have strong work ethic,
ability to work independently or as part of a team, and willingness to follow
direction; and good interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a sense of humour.
Their educational level should be at least at the high/secondary school level.
